There are direct flights
from all the major European airports into Florence

So try one of these combinations, fly directly to Florence. You can skip Rome! That will put you in the heart of Tuscany normally with just one stop.
One precaution is that both flights need to be on a single ticket, otherwise, if the first flight is delayed you may miss the second flight and lose it’s value.
